Anime News: Gundam’s Four Feet of Fury!
If you were awestruck by the sight of the life-like Gundam towering over Tokyo last summer and regret missing out on it, do not fret! Artist Taras Lesko has proven that you too can get a piece of Gundam action on your living room….unless of course you have pets, children or clumsy roommates.
Mind The Paper Cuts
If you think the model doesn’t look that impressive, take another look and try to register the details. This baby is made of nothing but paper, glue and large helpings of both skill and patience, proving that if you work hard enough (It took Mr Lesko a good two months to make) you too could witness the glory of a handmade Freedom Gundam.
There’s a video up on the relevant thread in the forums, so follow the link below the article to behold a time lapse video of this wonder taking place as people come and go from a couch and clothes magically appear on the artist (he’s a wizard!).
Also, here’s a bit of good news for those dearly missing the sight of the 1:1 scale Gundam; the statue will see the light of day again in the city of Shizuoka on July 24th as a commemoration of Gundam’s 30th birthday. The statue will be packing heat in the form of a Beam Saber. Stay tuned for more news on that when the time comes!
