FUNImation entertainment is set to release this new anime on Tuesday, August 10th. The anime is described by its tag-line as “Where T&A meets KO” so fans of martial arts, ecchi and well endowed ladies, have plenty to look forward to from this new anime and by default plenty to look at.
“Zettai Shougeki Platonic Heart” known in English as Master of Martial Hearts (not that it sounds more coherent) is brought to us by FUNimation. The original debut of the show took the form of five OVA’s released back in October of 2008, so those of you with an interest in the genre probably checked it out already. But if you liked it, then you may as well get excited because the official English release featuring the original Japanese voice acting with subtitles, as well as the dubbed voice over in English, is set to hit the market in less than a week. The DVD is set to include some nice extras such as a commentary track but what is there to look forward to?
Those of you without a wooden peg-leg, an eye patch and a parrot firmly perched on your shoulder are probably wondering what this is all about. The show can be summarized as this; well proportioned ladies beating the ever loving crap out of each other in order to get their hands on a mysterious gem known as “Platonic Heart” which is said to have the power to make the winner’s wishes come true.
It’s basically your standard girl-fighting anime so full of fan service that it may seem like too much at times, with clothes that break down to the atomic level with a gentle breeze, and girls fighting for one of the many Magical Mcguffins used as a plot device. The anime has a certain personality which goes well with the tone of the humor it sets.
So if you are a fan of the genre, or of fan service in general, this may very well be worth a look. Those of you still on the fence could look forward to an in-depth review of the title later on.
