Kekkaishi

I saw a commercial for it on Adult Swim, it looks kind of interesting. It instantly reminded me of Inuyasha, because the main character seems just like Miroku from Inuyasha.

Five hundred years ago, a feudal lord was attacked by demons wanting to retrieve his mysterious inner power to take over the human world. The famous mage Tokimori Hazama was called upon and, with his two students, managed to save the whole land. But they fell ill, and the feudal lord was killed; his power was also buried with him at a site called Karasumori.

In the present day, Yoshimori Sumimura and Tokine Yukimura, heirs of the Hazama clan, became the kekkaishi protecting the land and the power. They use a technique called Kekkai, a form of magical barrier, used to capture and destroy Ayakashi (monsters/demons) that are drawn to this land. Any demons that come near the power will become stronger and therefore Yoshimori and Tokine are to guard the land from intrusion of the Ayakashi. Some of the demons form a powerful organization to take over that mysterious power.

I've watched this already... Also the manga won the Shokagukan Award 2007 for best manga I think!? It was pretty awesome...

Did you see the second one? Lol I saw it on Adult Swim and went..hmm..interesting. So I'm recording it ^^ It kind of falls between two levels for me..the stereotypical fighty/old man screamy/love story anime and the...wtf just happened, anime.

I was really confused on the first episode when they went through like EVERYTHING very quickly...I'm not one for a lot of Japanese thrown into things so when I hear all these japanese words being shouted or flashed across the screen I kind of get confused X_X

But it seems pretty cool to me after seeing the second episode, and yes Yoshimori looks a hell a like Miroku, but I'm guessing thats just general monk attire. Aside from that relation, the animation style in terms of design and how the characters act I feel directly reflects Inuyasha and a couple other animes Shogakukan puts out there. Not surprisingly, both Inuyasha and Kekkaishi are made by Shogakukan. So we'll see where this goes =]

As for now I'll keep watching ^^ Unless AS does that thing where they say they're going to run a season and then stop halfway through and you never hear about it again.

I missed the first episode cause my grandma's birthday, so when I went on youtube. All of the dubs were so low recorded! I was so annoyed, I could barely hear it. I only watched five minutes of it and then it came on tv, (I'm a big procrastinator!)
I didn't know fully what was going on, but it was good.
I'm just hoping someone will put up the first episode, dubbed in a volume that is loud and not so low.
